Bes'uliik Class Fighter by kavinveldar Bes'uliik Class Fighter by kavinveldar
From the Wookieepidia Entry:

A Bes'uliik was originally designed for a crew of three, or two with an increased weapons/fuel layout although the earliest production prototypes were flown by single pilots. The fighter was designed to be versatile, capable of being everything from a planetary-attack bomber to a long-range "hunter-killer".

The spaceframe measured fifteen meters long, with a wingspan of a little over half its length. The hull was a plain, clean-lined vee-shape with a squared-off tail, with a dark gray finish and high-tech baffled exhausts to enhance its stealth capabilities. The four blasters and two additional weapons mountings were all located on the underside of the fuselage.

The cockpit hatch hinged at the top for entry and the bottom edges for ejection, but there were also side hatches, and on the prototype, these bore the mythosaur logo stenciled in a lighter gray color. Inside, the cockpit made use of advanced display technology, and control systems that could be activated simply by where the pilot was looking.

The fighter was also able to tilt vertically on its tail section, to land and take off in a tiny area, approximately eight-by-four square meters.

Late in the design process, the design was modified to add a protective layer of beskar armor, the legendary Mandalorian iron. The designers considered applying this as either as an outer skin or part of a laminated composite spaceframe. The initial prototype was completed with an ultra-thin beskar outer skin, but there was also some discussion of a heavier layer of solid hull armor. Although this would render the fighter heavier, there were also hopes that a new alliance with the Verpine engineers of the Roche Asteroid Belt would extend to a technology exchange, enabling the designers to lighten the underlying spaceframe structure to compensate, or to improve fuel economy

This is what I see when I imagine it... just.. looks wicked-bad-ass.

In SWQ I flew an advanced X-wing for the longest time with the HEAVIEST armor and shields I could find/RE. Then I ran into an asteroid miner who told me that he ran with the LIGHTEST armor he could. RE'd or not, just to know if his shields had been breached. I thought he was nuts, but, after doing some research found out that it worked, and worked VERY well. I ended up shaving nearly 10 tons in weight. Obviously I upgraded everything else post haste...

As for armoring the whole ship in Bes'kar ... Who's brilliant idea was that? One of Bes'kars best features is the ability to shed off light sabers like a glorified flash light. There's a Jedi Saber fighter fleet I don't know about? :o

Ok, being a dick - mode: off

Love the ship! Will you do a forward view, I'd like to see how the wings and such are laid out. :ahoy:

Love it! Karen Traviss never mentioned astromechs anyway, so I can easily see the Bessie having one. Brilliant work!

not exactly what i envisioned it to be, but, this new depiction is so kickass that they should use this as the design for it in an official source of star wars. I give this design my official amateur star wars "j'ne sais quois" look approval stamp. this is the best depiction of "The kind (of surprise) that makes you look for a bomb shelter. With a MandalMotors logo on the fuselage." this design is now fused into my brain forever because it is that good. Mandokarla, vod!
