Nagai Tri-Fighter by kavinveldar Nagai Tri-Fighter by kavinveldar
Using technology from both the Chiss Claw-craft and the standard ball cockpit from the usual TIE fighters, the Nagai created this incredible creation, the Tri-wing Blade fighter.

Original parts by Captain Shade and Mike Brown!

Looks like a TIE derivative described in "I, Jedi." The pirates in that book used TIE cockpits (claimed to be as common to the galaxy as hydrogen and stupidity) to create tri-winged fighters. Nicknamed "Clutch" by Rogue Squadron, they had cannon on the wing tips (like the Interceptors), with two lasers and one ion cannon. Apparently not faster than an X-Wing, but more maneuverable. A few were tricked out with hyperdrive and shields. I bet this is what they would have looked like.
Great concept, and great image.

" The Nagai use a forced projection system not unlike the Chiss's Maser weapons. But the Nagai use forced plasma energy, so think of it like a Paser. Very powerful, and capable of tearing through shields in half the time as lasers. But because of the power settings, the blasts have to come in staggered pairs.
"

Where is this from?

Star Wars RPG books actually... and you are correct, there were references to Masers in the Star Wars gamer magazine.
